Local COVID-19 updates

Not much in the way of good news today, with deaths and cases both up a bunch; the 1,793 newly reported confirmed cases are the highest single-day amount since April 16. Hospitalizations were down a bit day-over-day, so that's something. The seven-day averages are mostly higher, although the percent-positive average did dip minutely. The town-by-town results are also discouraging, with a net of five more communities in the highest-risk category (assuming, of course, that the state gave a rat's ass about those categories any more). At least Massachusetts isn't running out of hospital beds.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 7 active and 1,045 cumulative cases as of August 25. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
