Local COVID-19 updates

There's at least some good news day-over-day, as deaths and cases both dropped; alas, hospitalizations rose again. The seven-day averages are also all up compared to yesterday, which does not bode all that well.
While Governor Charlie Baker resolutely refuses to consider a statewide mask mandate, Boston's acting mayor has put a city-wide mandate in effect, applying to everyone (vaccinated or not) over the age of two in public indoor spaces until the current surge eases. Cambridge is apparently ordering mask wearing starting next week. At least Baker isn't trying to block cities and towns from taking action.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 8 active and 1,048 cumulative cases as of August 26. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
