Local COVID-19 updates

Day-to-day deaths are way up; however, based on the note posted yesterday, the 28 newly reported deaths cover four days of data, and thus average out to only a slight increase over yesterday's six. Cases are down (both in raw numbers, and compared to the average); in fact, today's 1,713 newly reported cases are the lowest single-day count since the 1,712 reported on April 12. Hospitalizations ticked up compared to yesterday, which isn't good news. The seven-day averages are a mixed bag as well, with cases and hospitalizations both down but deaths and percent-positive both up. Still, the seven-day averages are better today than last week and the week before. (Compared to last year at this time, of course, pretty much everything stinks horribly.)
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 28 active and 3,443 cumulative cases as of May 31. In the most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
