Local COVID-19 updates
Feb. 1st, 2021 06:00 pm( Wall-o-text, and we reach the 500k confirmed cases milestone )
The day-to-day drops in deaths and cases are nice, but it's Monday which means we're still dealing with weekend reporting lags, so I'm not overly excited. I'm also not happy that the ICU count ticked up slightly; I am happy to see the percent-positive rate continue downward, as well as seeing the continuing improvements in the seven-day averages compared to two weeks ago.
One year ago today, Massachusetts reported its first COVID-19 case. I didn't start posting these local COVID-19 updates until March 13. Today, the state's total confirmed case count topped half a million. Not a pleasant milestone.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 47 active and 685 cumulative cases as of January 31. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 1:30PM on January 25, 2021 reported 655 cumulative cases with 49 individuals in isolation, 575 persons recovered and 31 fatalities.
