As of 5PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 18 newly reported confirmed deaths (5 less than yesterday - down 21.7%) for a total of 18,689 deaths, 1,598 newly reported confirmed cases (12 more than yesterday - up 0.8%) for a total of 803,165 cases, and 98,364 newly reported molecular tests (6,066 less than yesterday - down 5.8%).The seven day average positivity rate is 1.92%, compared to 1.84% yesterday. The state also reported zero newly reported probable deaths (same as yesterday) for a total of 398 and 169 newly reported probable cases (1 more than yesterday - up 0.6%) for a total of 58,315. Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 18 new deaths for a total of 19,087 and 1,767 new cases for a total of 861,480. There were 502 COVID-19 patients in hospital (7 less than yesterday - down 1.4%), 145 COVID-19 patients in ICUs (2 less than yesterday - down 1.4%) and 82 COVID-19 patients on ventilators (intubated) (1 less than yesterday - down 1.2%).

Of the four overview trends (formerly the Page 2 "key metrics"), the 7-day average of newly confirmed cases is 1,014.0 (37 more than yesterday - up 3.8%), 1,484% above the lowest observed value of 64.0 on 6/25/2021 and 84.0% below the highest observed value of 6,229.0 on 1/8/2021. The 7-day weighted average of positive molecular test rate is 1.92% (0 more than yesterday - up 4.3%), 524% above the lowest observed value of 0.3% on 6/25/2021 and 93% below the highest observed value of 27.7% on 4/15/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 patients in hospital is 518.0 (3 less than yesterday - down 0.6%), 509% above the lowest observed value of 85.0 on 7/9/2021 and 87% below the highest observed value of 3,874.0 on 4/27/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 deaths is 11.0 (1 more than yesterday - up 10.0%), 1,000% above the lowest observed value of 1.0 on 7/11/2021 and 94% below the highest observed value of 175.0 on 4/24/2020.

Statewide, hospitals reported 9,115 non-ICU beds, of which 7,999 (87.8%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 357 (3.9%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 759 (8.3%) remained available. Hospitals also reported 1,289 ICU beds, of which 935 (72.5%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 145 (11.2%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 209 (16.2%) remained available. By comparison, hospitals reported yesterday a total of 9,040 non-ICU beds, of which 8,006 (88.6%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 362 (4%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 672 (7.4%) remained available. Hospitals also reported yesterday a total of 1,282 ICU beds, of which 928 (72.4%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 147 (11.5%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 207 (16.1%) remained available.

Two weeks ago, the 7 day confirmed case average was 938.0, the 7 day confirmed deaths average was 11.0, the 7 day hospitalization average was 544.0, and the 7 day weighted average positivity rate was 1.78%.

Sigh. Day-over-day cases are up again; at least deaths and hospitalizations are down. The seven-day averages for deaths, cases, and percent-positive are all up; the average for cases is back above one thousand.

I missed this in the writeup, but the state broke the eight-hundred-thousand confirmed case threshold yesterday. Not a good milestone.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 14 active and 1,207 cumulative cases as of November 4. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
