Jun. 21st, 2021 05:25 pmAs of 5PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 5 newly reported confirmed deaths (same as yesterday) for a total of 17,612 deaths, 48 newly reported confirmed cases (7 more than yesterday - up 17.1%) for a total of 663,299 cases, and 13,926 newly reported molecular tests (3,661 less than yesterday - down 20.8%). The seven day average positivity rate is 0.34%, compared to 0.34% yesterday. Excluding higher education, the seven day average positivity rate is 0.44%, compared to 0.45% yesterday. The number of estimated active cases was 1,876 (22 less than yesterday - down 1.2%). The state also reported zero newly reported probable deaths (same as yesterday) for a total of 364 and zero newly reported probable cases (same as yesterday) for a total of 46,144. Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 5 new deaths for a total of 17,976 and 48 new cases for a total of 709,443. There were 100 COVID-19 patients in hospital (8 less than yesterday - down 7.4%), 33 COVID-19 patients in ICUs (1 less than yesterday - down 2.9%) and 15 COVID-19 patients on ventilators (intubated) (4 less than yesterday - down 21.1%).
Of the four overview trends (formerly the Page 2 "key metrics"), the 7-day average of newly confirmed cases is 63.0 (1 more than yesterday - up 1.6%), 0% above the lowest observed value of 63.0 on 6/20/2021 and 99.0% below the highest observed value of 6,237.0 on 1/8/2021. The 7-day weighted average of positive molecular test rate is 0.34% (0 more than yesterday - up 0.1%), 0% above the lowest observed value of 0.3% on 6/20/2021 and 99% below the highest observed value of 27.7% on 4/15/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 patients in hospital is 115.0 (4 less than yesterday - down 3.4%), 0% above the lowest observed value of 115.0 on 6/20/2021 and 98% below the highest observed value of 3,874.0 on 4/27/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 deaths is 3.0 (same as yesterday), 0% above the lowest observed value of 3.0 on 6/19/2021 and 99% below the highest observed value of 175.0 on 4/24/2020.
Statewide, hospitals reported 8,948 non-ICU beds, of which 7,409 (82.8%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 67 (0.7%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,472 (16.5%) remained available. Hospitals also reported 1,336 ICU beds, of which 901 (67.4%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 33 (2.5%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 402 (30.1%) remained available. By comparison, hospitals reported yesterday a total of 9,048 non-ICU beds, of which 7,642 (84.5%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 74 (1%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,332 (14.7%) remained available. Hospitals also reported yesterday a total of 1,351 ICU beds, of which 929 (68.8%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 34 (2.5%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 388 (28.7%) remained available.
Two weeks ago, the 7 day confirmed case average was 116.0, the 7 day confirmed deaths average was 4.0, the 7 day hospitalization average was 201.0, and the 7 day weighted average positivity rate was 0.53% (or 0.75% excluding higher education).

Deaths were constant, but there was a slight uptick in cases day-over-day; then again, we're coming off a weekend, and the absolute numbers are still very low. The estimated active case count hit another low today; the hospitalization counts dropped as well; and the seven-day averages are all once again at their Lowest Observed Values.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing zero active and 981 cumulative cases as of June 20. There have been no new cases shown on this dashboard since June 2. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
