Of course the state would change the data layout on a Sunday. Of course. (Today's change: most of the columns in the "Hospitalization from Hospitals" tab had "confirmed" added to their headers. Why? Who knows?)
As of 5PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 41 newly reported confirmed deaths (11 less than yesterday - down 21.2%) for a total of 16,085 deaths, 1,281 newly reported confirmed cases (214 less than yesterday - down 14.3%) for a total of 559,083 cases, and 96,578 newly reported molecular tests (3,781 less than yesterday - down 3.8%). The seven day average positivity rate is 1.66%, compared to 1.79% yesterday. Excluding higher education, the seven day average positivity rate is 2.86%, compared to 3.00% yesterday. The number of estimated active cases was 27,320 (130 more than yesterday - up 0.5%). The state also reported 2 newly reported probable deaths (2 more than yesterday) for a total of 332 and 144 newly reported probable cases (83 less than yesterday - down 36.6%) for a total of 32,273. Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 43 new deaths for a total of 16,417 and 1,425 new cases for a total of 591,356. There were 665 COVID-19 patients in hospital (22 less than yesterday - down 3.2%), 174 COVID-19 patients in ICUs (2 less than yesterday - down 1.1%) and 116 COVID-19 patients on ventilators (intubated) (2 more than yesterday - up 1.8%).
Of the four overview trends (formerly the Page 2 "key metrics"), the 7-day average of newly confirmed cases is 1,111.0 (43 more than yesterday - up 4.0%), 607% above the lowest observed value of 157.0 on 7/4/2020 and 83.0% below the highest observed value of 6,242.0 on 1/8/2021. The 7-day weighted average of positive molecular test rate is 1.66% (0 less than yesterday - down 7.1%), 116% above the lowest observed value of 0.8% on 9/21/2020 and 94% below the highest observed value of 27.7% on 4/15/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 patients in hospital is 736.0 (15 less than yesterday - down 2.0%), 374% above the lowest observed value of 155.0 on 8/26/2020 and 82% below the highest observed value of 3,874.0 on 4/27/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 deaths is 37.0 (same as yesterday), 236% above the lowest observed value of 11.0 on 9/9/2020 and 79% below the highest observed value of 175.0 on 4/24/2020.
Statewide, hospitals reported 9,120 non-ICU beds, of which 6,894 (75.6%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 491 (5.4%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,735 (19.0%) remained available. Hospitals also reported 1,417 ICU beds, of which 881 (62.2%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 174 (12.3%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 362 (25.5%) remained available. By comparison, hospitals reported yesterday a total of 9,145 non-ICU beds, of which 7,126 (77.9%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 511 (6%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,508 (16.5%) remained available. Hospitals also reported yesterday a total of 1,421 ICU beds, of which 882 (62.1%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 176 (12.4%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 363 (25.5%) remained available.
Two weeks ago, the 7 day confirmed case average was 1,192.0, the 7 day confirmed deaths average was 42.0, the 7 day hospitalization average was 1,042.0, and the 7 day weighted average positivity rate was 1.86% (or 3.16% excluding higher education).

Data layout flailing aside, the day-to-day numbers look pretty good - deaths down, cases down, positivity down. The overall hospitalization count and the ICU census are both down as well, although the count of intubated patients ticked up again. The seven-day case average keeps ticking up, though, and that's not good.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 16 active and 782 cumulative cases as of March 5, and has apparently not been updated since. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 5PM on February 26, 2021 reported 766 cumulative cases with 27 individuals in isolation, 707 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
