As of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 17 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 7,935 confirmed deaths), 212 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 104,228) and 11,444 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 872,380), with a total of 1,105,013 molecular tests administered to date. The ratio of newly confirmed cases to individuals tested by molecular test is 1.9%. The state also reported zero newly reported probable deaths (for a total of 214), 78 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 5,400), and 985 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 74,598). In total, the state reported 17 new deaths (for a total of 8,149) and 290 new cases (for a total of 109,628).

Good to see the probable deaths down, good to see the number of tests up, and very good to see the percentage of tests coming back positive down. Not so good to see the confirmed deaths go up again, and really not good to see the "number of hospitals using surge capacity" measure up for the third day in a row. That number is now up to five, the highest it's been since June 11.

The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 9:30PM on Sunday 6/28, the town reported 173 cumulative cases with 0 individuals in isolation, 152 persons recovered and 21 fatalities. The town's normal Fourth of July celebration has been cancelled for this year due to the pandemic. No surprise there.
