As of 4PM this afternoon, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 82 more deaths from COVID-19 (for a total of 6,148 to date), 1,114 new cases (for a total of 90,084) and 11,533 more tests reported (for a total of 501,486). The ratio of new cases to new test results is 9.6%.
The daily death count is down from yesterday, which is good; but the case count and positive test percentage were both up, which is not good. In addition, two of the four "Dashboard of Public Health Indicators" measurements went the wrong way in today's report: the seven-day weighted average of positive test results edged up slightly (9.3% to 9.4%), and two more hospitals are using their surge capacity (15 today, up from 13 yesterday).
The town of Acton has yet to post an update today; yesterday at 9PM, the town reported 158 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Acton with 59 individuals in isolation, 80 recovered and 19 fatalities.
