Apr. 22nd, 2020 07:49 pmAs of 4PM this afternoon, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting (via their new dashboard format) two hundred twenty one more deaths from COVID-19 (for a total of 2,182 to date), 1,745 new cases (for a total of 42,944) and 5,090 more tests performed (for a total of 180,462).
That's the highest daily death toll yet.
The state also released its second weekly report of cases and deaths broken out on a town-by-town basis. According to that report, Acton has 50 confirmed cases for a rate of 210.68 cases per 100k population. By comparison, the hardest-hit community in Massachusetts, Chelsea, has 1,447 cases (3841.80 per 100k). The state total of 42,944 confirmed cases corresponds to a rate of 616.41 cases per 100k.
