Local COVID-19 updates

edschweppeMassachusetts is now up to 646 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (up from 525 yesterday), with five deaths. We're just hitting the start of the exponential rise. The town is still reporting no cases in Acton.
Meanwhile, my church has decided to close the buildings entirely to the public. We had our second virtual service this morning, with over a hundred people participating via Zoom teleconferencing; we also had several families sitting in their cars in the parking lot, listening over their car radios. It actually has been working pretty well, as long as folks remember to keep their microphones on mute.

Date: 2020-03-22 11:33 pm (UTC)We still have some music - our organist has been recording preludes, postludes and hymns; our music director then plays the recordings and sings the hymns (solo). But no choir, and I'm missing that a lot.
