Why shouldn't one drop the soap, one might ask?
Because the shower cubicles on the Ustafish were really small, and there wasn't enough room to pick the soap back up without having to lean into the walls.
Which were stainless steel.
And thus very good heat sinks.
Especially when ambient air temperatures were being maintained by nuclear-powered air conditioning.
