Local COVID-19 updates
Feb. 17th, 2022 05:23 pm( Wall-o-text )
Another day of mixed blessings. Most of the numbers are down compared to yesterday (deaths, hospitalizations and all four seven-day averages), which should be great news; however, cases are up a lot, with today's 2,326 newly reported confirmed cases being over 40% higher than yesterday.
City/town level reports are also in, what with today being Thursday. The trends continue in promising directions, with the count of communities meeting the old highest-risk criteria dropping sharply from 248 last week to 183 this week. My own town of Acton was one of the sixty-six communities to drop from red to yellow.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 17 active and 2,758 cumulative cases as of February 16. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
