Wall-o-text, covering 3 days of death data )

The raw death count is up compared to yesterday, but nowadays the state is reporting three days of deaths on Tuesdays; averaged over those three days, deaths per day are down substantially, which is encouraging. Cases are also down a bunch; we haven't been below three thousand cases per day since November 30, 2021. We're also below two thousand COVID-19 patients in hospitals, for the first time since December 31, 2021. The seven-day deaths average ticked up by one, which isn't great; however, the other three (cases, hospitalizations and percent-positive) are all down.

I'm overall somewhat encouraged - but given that case counts were actually climbing for much of last week, I want to see continued, sustained drops in cases and hospitalizations before I start really feeling better about local conditions.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 47 active and 2,665 cumulative cases as of January 31. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
