Local COVID-19 updates

The good news is that the day-over-day numbers for deaths are down compared to Friday, and the numbers for cases are also down - if you average them over the three days that today's report covers. On the other hand, as the state's dashboard now notes, the deaths reported on today's dashboard were only those reported to the state on Friday; the weekend deaths won't show up until tomorrow. Pretty much everything else has gone in the bad direction. Hospitalizations are up again; today's 1,513 patients is the highest that number has been reported since 1,554 were reported on February 4. The seven-day averages for cases, hospitalizations and percent-positive are all up as well, both compared to Friday and compared to two weeks ago. Compared to last year on this date, we've got a lot more cases and our percent-positive is higher, but the hospitalization and death averages are actually lower.
Not that things are going to get better any time soon; we're seeing an exponential rise in Omicron-variant cases throughout New England:

Of course, there's no sign of Governor Charlie Baker doing anything. But that's not news.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 46 active and 1,492 cumulative cases as of December 19. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 1PM on November 22, 2021 reported 1304 cumulative cases with 54 individuals in isolation, 1218 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
