Local COVID-19 updates
Aug. 12th, 2021 05:21 pm( Wall-o-text - now 24 high-risk communities, if the state still bothered )
The day-over-day news is mixed; deaths and hospitalizations are up, but cases actually dropped a bunch. The seven-day cases and hospitalization averages are up again, and the seven-day deaths average held constant; however, the seven-day average for percent-positive is down slightly. It's too early to tell if that's just statistical noise or if we're near a peak for delta-variant cases. Meanwhile, the city and town weekly data keeps deteriorating, with the count of highest-risk communites up to 24 (from 9 last week), and that of moderate-risk communites up to 89 (from 31 last week).
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 9 active and 1,018 cumulative cases as of August 11. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
