Because, once again, Massachusetts is having problems with the ones and zeroes of the COVID-19 Interactive Data Dashboard:
Please note: due to technical issues, today’s COVID-19 data report has been delayed. It will be published as soon as it is available.
Sigh.

Hey, today's data is finally available! Of course, there's no word on why it was delayed. On the other hand, it was delayed last Wednesday, and the Wednesday before that, so maybe there's just something about Wednesdays in May?

Wall-o-text )

Day-to-day differences aren't particularly good; newly reported deaths and cases are both up, as are the hospitalization counts. On the other hand, estimated active cases continue to trend downward, as do the seven-day averages for cases, hospitalizations and percent-positive. The weekly update on the fourteen-day incidence rate is encouraging, as that number (8.7 cases per 100k population) is below ten per 100k for the first time since the state started reporting it back in November.

I do wish somebody would explain WTF is going on with the state's data distribtion, though ...

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 4 active and 977 cumulative cases as of May 18. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 12PM on May 17, 2021 reported 975 cumulative cases with 6 individuals in isolation, 937 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
