Once again, the state has mucked around with the format of their raw data spreadsheet, once again it broke my loader code, and once again I've had to dig into the weeds of column names to fix things. Sigh.

Apart from the data layout changes, though, we've got good news and bad news in the day-to-day comparisons. Newly reported deaths and cases are both down a bunch, as are the estimated active case totals; all of which are good to see. On the other hand, all the hospitalization rates are up, which is bad to see. The seven-day case and death averages are both down; in fact, the average deaths are the lowest observed value since April 15, 2020. (And, if you dig further into the data, the deaths average is the lowest since March 26, 2020.) However, the seven-day averages for percent-positive and hospitalizations are both up, and neither of those is a good sign.

The folks at https://www.covidactnow.org/ still have Massachusetts in the "very high risk" category, due to the dangerously high daily incidence rate of 26.7 new cases per 100k population; that's the fourteenth highest level in the US and fifth-worst in New England (only Vermont is in better shape).

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 25 active and 938 cumulative cases as of April 20. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 4:45PM on April 13, 2021 reported 914 cumulative cases with 30 individuals in isolation, 852 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
