Local COVID-19 updates

A mixed bag at best. Deaths and cases are both up day-by-day, but estimated total cases, hospitalizations and three of the four seven-day averages are all down compared to yesterday. The seven-day hospitalization average is still noticably above where it was two weeks ago; however, the other three averages are all well below that day's numbers, which does qualify as a good sign.
Mind, those case numbers are still way, way too high for comfort; the good folks at https://www.covidactnow.org/ show Massachusetts as having the twelfth-highest daily incidence rate in the nation, at 29.2 daily cases per 100k population. To be considered low risk per the Key Metrics for COVID Suppression paper from the Harvard Global Health Institute, we would have to have a daily incidence rate of less than one daily case per 100k population. We ain't anywhere near there yet.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 38 active and 927 cumulative cases as of April 15. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 4:45PM on April 13, 2021 reported 914 cumulative cases with 30 individuals in isolation, 852 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
