Local COVID-19 updates
Jul. 18th, 2020 07:53 pmAs of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 17 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 8,201), 177 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 106,664), and 12,064 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 1,020,259), with a total of 1,309,804 molecular tests administered to date. The ratio of newly confirmed cases to individuals tested by molecular test is 1.5%. The state also reported zero newly reported probable deaths (for a total of 218), 182 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 6,574), and 1,084 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 85,623). Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 17 new deaths (for a total of 8,419) and 359 new cases (for a total of 113,238).
That's a bit better, compared to yesterday: deaths and cases down, as is the percent-positive rate. (Test counts are also down, slightly, which isn't great news.)
The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 12:30PM on July 16, the town reported 180 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Acton with 3 individuals in isolation, 156 recovered and 21 fatalities.
