As of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 21 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 8,184), 216 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 106,487), and 12,821 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 1,008,195), with a total of 1,293,162 molecular tests administered to date. The ratio of newly confirmed cases to individuals tested by molecular test is 1.7%. The state also reported 1 newly reported probable death (for a total of 218), 82 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 6,392), and 941 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 84,539). Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 22 new deaths (for a total of 8,402) and 298 new cases (for a total of 112,879).

Sigh. Deaths and cases up, tests (very slightly) down, and the percent-positive ratio up. At least the number of hospitals using surge capacity ticked down by one, to five.

The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 12:30PM yesterday, the town reported 180 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Acton with 3 individuals in isolation, 156 recovered and 21 fatalities - that's four more cases (all recovered) since the last update on July 14.
