Local COVID-19 updates
Jul. 13th, 2020 09:23 pmAs of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 5 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 8,115), 154 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 105,783), and 8,587 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 960,099), with a total of 1,225,332 molecular tests administered to date. The ratio of newly confirmed cases to individuals tested by molecular test is 1.8%. The state also reported zero newly reported probable deaths (for a total of 215), 76 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 6,044), and 315 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 80,888). Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 5 new deaths (for a total of 8,330) and 230 new cases (for a total of 111,827).
Deaths and cases are both down, which is always good; unfortunately, tests are also down, which isn't. Presumably, those are due to the weekend effect. In not-so-good news, though, the percent-positive rate ticked back up (from 1.5% to 1.8%).
The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 5:30PM on July 9, the town reported 178 cumulative cases of COVID-19 with 5 individuals in isolation, 152 recovered and 21 fatalities.
