The state is still having problems with their dashboard, but I was able to download the underlying data file, so here we go:

As of 5PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 42 newly reported confirmed deaths (24 less than yesterday - down 36.4%) for a total of 15,967 deaths, 1,410 newly reported confirmed cases (143 less than yesterday - down 9.2%) for a total of 554,630 cases, and 102,362 newly reported molecular tests (310 more than yesterday - up 0.3%). The seven day average positivity rate is 1.75%, compared to 1.82% yesterday. Excluding higher education, the seven day average positivity rate is 2.99%, compared to 3.04% yesterday. The number of estimated active cases was 27,763 (787 less than yesterday - down 2.8%). The state also reported 2 newly reported probable deaths (2 less than yesterday - down 50.0%) for a total of 329 and 157 newly reported probable cases (189 less than yesterday - down 54.6%) for a total of 31,680. Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 44 new deaths for a total of 16,296 and 1,567 new cases for a total of 586,310. There were 741 COVID-19 patients in hospital (14 less than yesterday - down 1.9%), 168 COVID-19 patients in ICUs (5 less than yesterday - down 2.9%) and 100 COVID-19 patients on ventilators (intubated) (9 less than yesterday - down 8.3%).

Of the four overview trends (formerly the Page 2 "key metrics"), the 7-day average of newly confirmed cases is 1,040.0 (36 less than yesterday - down 3.3%), 562% above the lowest observed value of 157.0 on 7/4/2020 and 84.0% below the highest observed value of 6,242.0 on 1/8/2021. The 7-day weighted average of positive molecular test rate is 1.75% (0 less than yesterday - down 3.9%), 127% above the lowest observed value of 0.8% on 9/21/2020 and 94% below the highest observed value of 27.7% on 4/15/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 patients in hospital is 783.0 (17 less than yesterday - down 2.1%), 405% above the lowest observed value of 155.0 on 8/26/2020 and 80% below the highest observed value of 3,874.0 on 4/27/2020. The 7-day average number of COVID-19 deaths is 40.0 (1 more than yesterday - up 2.6%), 263% above the lowest observed value of 11.0 on 9/9/2020 and 78% below the highest observed value of 175.0 on 4/24/2020.

Statewide, hospitals reported 9,200 non-ICU beds, of which 7,291 (79.2%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 573 (6.2%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,336 (14.5%) remained available. Hospitals also reported 1,420 ICU beds, of which 890 (62.7%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 168 (11.8%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 362 (25.5%) remained available. By comparison, hospitals reported yesterday a total of 9,213 non-ICU beds, of which 7,310 (79.3%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 582 (6%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,321 (14.3%) remained available. Hospitals also reported yesterday a total of 1,420 ICU beds, of which 867 (61.1%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 173 (12.2%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 380 (26.8%) remained available.

Two weeks ago, the 7 day confirmed case average was 1,199.0, the 7 day confirmed deaths average was 49.0, the 7 day hospitalization average was 1,141.0, and the 7 day weighted average positivity rate was 2.13% (or 3.61% excluding higher education).

Today being Thursday, the state also included city/town specific information in the daily download. My town of Acton is listed as having 773 total cases, with a two-week case count of 42 cases, a daily incidence rate of 12.6 which is lower than last week, and a risk color code of yellow. Acton is also listed as having 35,463 total tests, with a two-week total test count of 2,505 and a two-week positive test count of 47, for a percent-positive rate of 1.88 which is the same than last week. The corresponding statewide figures are 553,220 total cases, with a two-week case count of 20,763 cases, a daily incidence rate of 21.3 which is lower than last week, and a risk color code of yellow. Massachusetts is also listed as having 16,419,989 total tests, with a two-week total test count of 1,246,187 and a two-week positive test count of 24,038, for a percent-positive rate of 1.93 which is lower than last week.

Of the 351 cites and towns in the Commonwealth, 114 are coded gray (compared to 111 last week), 39 are coded green (compared to 22 last week), and 179 are coded yellow (compared to 190 last week). The remaining 19 towns are coded red (compared to 28 last week): Blackstone, Chicopee, Clinton, Fall River, Freetown, Hadley, Haverhill, Lawrence, Ludlow, Lynn, Methuen, New Bedford, Peabody, Plainville, Springfield, Sterling, Sutton, West Bridgewater, and Weymouth.

6 cities/towns are newly coded red this week (Clinton, Hadley, Ludlow, Plainville, Sterling, and Sutton) and 15 cities/towns are no longer coded red this week (Acushnet, Ashburnham, Brockton, Cohasset, Lakeville, Lowell, Middleborough, Plymouth, Revere, Rutland, Southampton, Southbridge, Taunton, Templeton, and Westminster).

Of the 10 towns near my church, 3 are coded gray (Berlin, Harvard, and Stow), 3 are coded green (Bolton, Boxborough, and Hudson), 4 are coded yellow (Acton, Marlborough, Maynard, and Sudbury), and none are coded red.

The daily raw data file used to create this report is available here.

Day-to-day deaths and cases both down, which is nice; on the other hand, they were up yesterday, which wasn't. Hospitalization counts continue to drop, and most of the seven-day averages are down compared to yesterday. (All of them are down compared to two weeks ago.)

The weekly city and town stats also look good, with only nineteen towns in the highest-risk category this week.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 16 active and 775 cumulative cases as of March 2, and has apparently not been updated since. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 5PM on February 26, 2021 reported 766 cumulative cases with 27 individuals in isolation, 707 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
