On the front page of today's Boston Globe print edition, a story about a proposal for the world's tallest flagpole - as part of a "patriotic theme park" in way, waaay Downeast Maine:

This sounds awfully sketchy on many, many levels. But, frankly, the thing that caught my attention was the location - way, way, way downeast Maine, beyond Acadia National Park. In fact, if I recall correctly, it's smack dab in the middle of the "Sunrise County" of
jhetley's Stonefort stories. And I rather suspect Alice Haskell and Kate Rowley would have ... thoughts ... about this proposal. Not to mention a rather opinionated house.
Of course, the Haskell Witches are purely fantasy. No possible basis in reality. Right?
