Local COVID-19 updates
Oct. 20th, 2022 10:17 pm( Wall-o-text, covering 7 days of data )
Newly confirmed cases and deaths are both down slightly, which is good. Even better was the drop in percent-positive due to a rise in reported tests. Hospitalizations, however, keep climbing, with big percentage jumps in ICU and ventilator usage, and that's not good at all. Massachusetts has barely five percent of its non-ICU hospital beds available (474 available out of 8,905 total). Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention once again have every county in the state at a "COVID-19 Community Level" of Medium (thanks to those climbing hospitalizations), which of course means no action whatsoever on the part of anyone official.
Sigh.
