Yesterday's report, as the Tuesday following a three-day weekend, covered four days of data (deaths, cases and testing); one would assume that the raw numbers would be down today. For deaths, one would be badly wrong; today's 24 newly reported confirmed deaths are far higher than yesterday's two (and is the highest single-day report since March 9). Raw case numbers are down; however, today's 1,853 newly confirmed cases are up noticably from yesterday's average. (In slightly better news, today's case count is down slightly from last Wednesday's 1,969.) Hospitalizations are way up though; today's 373 is the highest since the state reported 383 on March 3. The seven-day average for percent-positive, is up to 4.34%; on the other hand, the seven-day average for newly confirmed cases is actually down a bit from yesterday. Maybe we're approaching the peak of this surge; it's far too soon to tell.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 20 active and 2,989 cumulative cases as of April 19. In the most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
