Okay, this is definitely getting bad. Deaths, cases and hospitalizations are all up compared to yesterday; today's 1,472 newly reported cases are the highest single-day report since 1,556 were reported on February 24. The seven-day averages for cases (801) and percent-positive (2.36%) are both up again, as well.

The state's city/town data isn't bad - yet - but it's getting there. There are only four towns with bad enough case rates to warrant the old "red" risk color, and that's actually down one from last week; however, the number rising to the second-worst "yellow" risk color is up a bunch (90 this week compared to 54 last week), and my own town is one of the ones that jumped up to yellow.

Meanwhile, evidence is beginning to turn up that the Omicron variant is worse for young, unvaccinated children than earlier variants:

In personal vaccination news, today is the one-year anniversary of my second COVID-19 vaccination. I've got an appointment for the second booster on Monday.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 22 active and 2,872 cumulative cases as of March 30. In the most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
