Wall-o-text, covering 3 days of case data )

Day-over-day deaths are down, which is always nice. Cases are much more of a mixed bag; the raw count is up, but that count covers three days and the average of those three days is down compared to Friday; but those three days include the weekend when reporting gets wonky. Today's 2,430 newly reported cases are way up from last Monday's 1,520; on the other hand, the state specifically noted that last Monday's numbers were likely low due to reporting issues. Hospitalizations held constant, and the seven-day percent-positive average actually dropped a tiny amount; however, the seven-day hospitalization average ticked up slightly, and the seven-day cases average is up a lot.

Today's wall-o-text includes a summary of county-level COVID Community Level and COVID Community Transmission data as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Unsurprisingly, given that Massachusetts hospitals have a relatively light COVID caseload, every county in the state has a Low COVID Community Level (which means masking up indoors is optional unless you're positive). Alas, every county in the state has either a Substantial or High COVID Community Transmission level (which used to mean masking up was recommended for all). Nationwide, 91% of counties have Low Community Level, while 66% have Low or Moderate Community Transmission, so I can see why so many people don't think they need to mask up. I don't agree with that thought, but I can see why folks might think that way.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 11 active and 2,850 cumulative cases as of March 27. In the most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
