Wall-o-text, with ten thousand plus new cases )

Well, at least the day-over-day counts of newly reported confirmed deaths and current hospitalizations are down. On the other hand, newly reported confirmed cases set a new record for the third day in a row, breaking the ten-thousand-case milestone and coming in at a total of 10,040 cases. The seven-day cases average continues to skyrocket; at 5,386. it's less than a thousand cases per day below the highest observed value. And the seven-day percent-positive average is up again, now over eight percent for the first time since early January at 8.32%.

There's nothing on the state's website to indicate whether or not they'll treat Monday as an observed holiday, so I don't know if there will be any reporting then. Looking at the current trends, though, the next report (whenever it comes out) is quite likely to break both the one-million-confirmed-cases mark and set a new highest observed value for the seven-day average case count.

Guess the Omicron wave is really here. Merry Christmas?

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 149 active and 1,608 cumulative cases as of December 23. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 7PM on December 21, 2021, the town reported 1538 cumulative cases with 89 individuals in isolation, 1417 recovered and 32 fatalities.
