Local COVID-19 updates

Deaths way up day-over-day, which is awful; today's 51 newly reported deaths are the highest reported since 54 newly confirmed deaths were reported on March 24. Newly reported cases are down somewhat - but still over thirty-seven hundred cases, which is way too goddamn many. Hospitalizations are up again as well; today's 1,151 patient count is the highest that number has been since the 1,223 reported on February 12. The seven-day average for new cases is down compared to yesterday, but those for percent-positive, hospitalizations and especially deaths are all up. Basically, it's looking a lot like last year, only with more people vaccinated, fewer people wearing masks, and more variants floating around.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 49 active and 1,398 cumulative cases as of December 6. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 1PM on November 22, 2021 reported 1304 cumulative cases with 54 individuals in isolation, 1218 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
