Local COVID-19 updates

Day-over-day comparisons are a mess today because the Monday holiday meant Tuesday's report covered four days; today's raw numbers of newly reported cases and deaths are well below yesterday's raw numbers, but today's numbers are way above yesterday's numbers if averaged over all four days, so the overall news is ... not good. Further badness comes from an uptick in hospitalizations, as well as the seven-day positivity average ticking back above two percent for the first time in a month or two. There were drops in the seven-day averages for cases and hospitalizations, which is at least a little bit of good news.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 13 active and 1,164 cumulative cases as of October 12. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
