Local COVID-19 updates
Apr. 29th, 2021 05:45 pm( Wall-o-text - down to 26 high-risk communities )
Day-to-day, an unhappy uptick in deaths, but drops in cases, hospitalizations and estimated active cases, along with drops or holding steady in the seven-day averages; overall, reasonably good news. The seven-day averages for cases, hospitalizations and percent-positive are also all below their levels two weeks ago; unfortunately, they're all still well above last summer's lows.
As for the weekly city/town numbers, my town of Acton is improving but still in the yellow moderate-risk category. The number of communities in the high-risk category dropped again; we're down to 26. The statewide numbers also improved, but the fourteen-day incidence rate is still way too high (at 20.0 per 100k).
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 19 active and 959 cumulative cases as of April 29. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 6PM on April 27, 2021 reported 951 cumulative cases with 13 individuals in isolation, 906 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
