Today's state dashboard includes the following notice:
Please note: Reporting of laboratory test results by the Broad Institute is being impacted by two separate technology issues in their electronic process. As a result, approximately 20% of their total laboratory results were not reported in time to be included in today’s dashboard. Tomorrow’s dashboard data will include the 20% of data not reported today.

Deaths and cases down day-to-day, which is certainly good; tests were also down, which is not. The drops in reported cases and tests may be due in part to the Broad Institute issue noted above, so take them with a bit of a grain of salt. On the other hand, the percent-positive rate and the estimated active case count are both up, which is bad. The seven-day averages for everything but deaths are also up (also bad), and those same averages are also all above their values two weeks ago (even worse). All in all, not what I'd call a good day.

Now even the Boston Globe is asking the question: Is Massachusetts heading for yet another surge in COVID-19 cases? The experts are worried:

Well, since the case counts keep rising, and Charlie Baker keeps on doing nothing, seems to me we're already in that next surge. Hopefully getting so many of the most vulnerable folks vaccinated already means the death toll will be less, at least.

The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 38 active and 871 cumulative cases as of April 2. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 2PM on March 19, 2021 reported 813 cumulative cases with 9 individuals in isolation, 772 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
