Local COVID-19 updates
Dec. 26th, 2020 06:00 pmThe state did not publish a COVID-19 Daily Dashboard on Christmas Day; thus today's numbers cover two calendar days of new reports. (Expect the same next week.)
( Wall-o-text - or maybe Box-o-text, in honor of Boxing Day )
Deaths were down a bunch, which is sort of surprising given that this report covers two days; on the other hand, I can certainly imagine folks not wanting to report deaths on Christmas Day. The newly reported case count is the highest it's ever been, but again that's two days worth of data. Happier news are the drops in estimated active cases and hospitalizations; unhappier news are the rise in positivity and ICU cases.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing 47 active and 495 cumulative cases as of December 24; apparently it hasn't been updated since. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 9PM on December 15 reported 433 cumulative cases with 63 individuals in isolation, 345 persons recovered and 25 fatalities.
