Another manual update today, as I'm still working on getting the automated extraction and calculation code working with this new data layout.

As of 5PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 27 newly reported confirmed deaths (15 more than yesterday), 1,629 newly reported confirmed cases (706 more than yesterday), 502 confirmed COVID-19 patients in hospital (17 more than yesterday) and 109 confirmed COVID-19 patients in ICU (13 more than yesterday). There are a total of 17,455 estimated active cases (774 more than yesterday). The seven-day average test positivity rate is 1.86% (0.08 percentage points more than yesterday).

Well, that sucks. Way over a thousand new cases today - worst one-day result since May 14 (when there were 1,685 new cases). Deaths up day-to-day as well, which ain't good, and the average test positivity is up again.

No reaction reported yet from Governor Baker; granted, given the presidential election results (or lack of a definitive set thereof), he may have other things on his plate, and the news organizations certainly do.

The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 2:45PM on October 28, the town of Acton reported 233 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in town with 11 individuals in isolation, 201 recovered and 21 fatalities.
