As of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 11 newly reported confirmed deaths (for a total of 8,417), 353 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 110,430), and 13,312 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 1,206,512), with a total of 1,573,852 molecular tests administered to date. The ratio of newly confirmed cases to individuals tested by molecular test is 2.7%. The state also reported 1 newly reported probable death (for a total of 221), 65 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 8,028), and 329 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 97,293). Combining the confirmed and probable numbers gives 12 new deaths (for a total of 8,638) and 418 new cases (for a total of 118,458).

The seven day average number of newly confirmed cases per day is 292.9 compared to 214.0 last week and 179.0 two weeks ago. The seven day average number of newly confirmed deaths per day is 15.3 compared to 13.9 last week and 14.7 two weeks ago. The seven day average number of molecular tests per day is 13,287.1 compared to 11,374.1 last week and 11,767.3 two weeks ago. The seven day average percentage of tests coming back positive per day is 2.2% compared to 1.9% last week and 1.5% two weeks ago.
(The above averages are calculated from today's raw data download.)

The good news is that today's daily dashboard didn't have any notes about delayed test data. Also, the day-to-day numbers of confirmed deaths and probable cases are both down, while the number of tests are up. But that's about it for good news; confirmed cases are up a lot, and the percent-positive ratio is way up. Meanwhile, all the seven-day averages are going up - which is nice for people tested, but bad for cases, deaths and the percent-positive ratio.

The town of Acton has yet to post an update today. As of the most recent report at 3PM on July 28,the town reported 183 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Acton with 4 individuals in isolation, 158 recovered and 21 fatalities.
