As of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 47 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 7,467 confirmed deaths), 206 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 101,276) and 9,112 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 708,383). The ratio of newly confirmed cases to molecular test results is 2.1%. The state also reported one newly reported probable death (for a total of 157), 2 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 4,327), and 534 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 57,582). In total, the state reported 48 new deaths (for a total of 7,624) and 208 new cases (for a total of 105,603).

The new-case numbers and percentage of positive tests both dropped significantly, and the various weighted averages that the state tracks continue to trend downward; However, that jump in deaths is ... troubling. Is asking for the death counts to go down every day too much to ask for?

The town of Acton has not posted an update today; the most recent report, as of 8:30AM yesterday morning, reported 171 cumulative cases with 2 individuals in isolation, 148 persons recovered and 21 fatalities.
