As of 4PM today, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 45 newly reported confirmed COVID-19 deaths (for a total of 7,382 confirmed deaths), 307 newly reported confirmed cases (for a total of 100,811) and 10,186 new patients tested by molecular tests (for a total of 689,111). The ratio of newly confirmed cases to molecular test results is 3.0%. The state reported 1 newly reported probable death (for a total of 156), 85 newly reported probable cases (for a total of 4,248), and 1,210 patients tested by antibody tests (for a total of 55,784). In total, the state reported 46 new deaths (for a total of 7,538) and 392 new cases (for a total of 105,059).

Today's confirmed cases are down from yesterday's, as is the percentage of positive tests, both of which are good signs; and the three-day average of confirmed deaths is back to a downward trend. However, the rise in confirmed deaths is a bad sign, and I'm going to make a slight bet that it'll tick up again tomorrow. Another bad sign: the fact that the number of hospitals statewide using surge capacity ticked up by one. Heck, the fact that we still have hospitals needing surge capacity to deal with their case loads is a bad sign.

The town of Acton has yet to issue a new report today. The most recent report is as of 11:30AM on June 10; that report was of 171 cumulative cases with 7 individuals in isolation, 143 persons recovered and 21 fatalities.
