Local COVID-19 updates
Apr. 26th, 2020 07:52 pmAs of 4PM this afternoon, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting one hundred sixty nine more deaths from COVID-19 (for a total of 2,899 to date), 1,590 new cases (for a total of 54,938) and 9,255 more tests performed (for a total of 236,100).
The Boston Globe ran twenty-one pages of death notices today. Sunday usually sees the most such notices, which are really advertisements placed by either by family members or funeral homes, but twenty-one pages is far above normal; for comparison, on the fourth Sunday of April 2019, the Globe only ran seven pages.
The town of Acton has not posted an update so far today; yesterday's update reported a total of 65 confirmed cases (up from 63 the day before).
