Local COVID-19 updates
Apr. 11th, 2020 10:10 pmAs of 4PM this afternoon, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting eighty-seven more deaths from COVID-19 (for a total of 686 to date), 1886 new cases (for a total of 22860) and 6404 more persons tested (for a total of 108776). The Boston Globe reported today that a nurse at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton died of COVID-19, along with ten patients. (That nursing home is one I passed every day commuting to Boston on the commuter rail; it's also where my grandmother stayed for a few weeks back in the 1990s before transferring to a facility in New Jersey.) Nearly half of the known coronavirus deaths in Massachusetts to date were patients at long-term care facilities.
As of 7PM this evening, the town of Acton is reporting a total of 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in town (up from 27 yesterday).
