The seven day average positivity rate is 0.33%, compared to 0.29% yesterday. Excluding higher education, the seven day average positivity rate is 0.43%, compared to 0.40% yesterday. There were 104 COVID-19 patients in hospital (9 more than yesterday - up 9.5%), 31 COVID-19 patients in ICUs (same as yesterday) and 15 COVID-19 patients on ventilators (intubated) (4 more than yesterday - up 36.4%).
Of the four overview trends (formerly the Page 2 "key metrics"), the 7-day average of newly confirmed cases is 55.0 (same as yesterday), 0% above the lowest observed value of 55.0 on 6/28/2021 and 100.0% below the highest observed value of 6,236.0 on 1/8/2021. The 7-day weighted average of positive molecular test rate is 0.33% (0 more than yesterday - up 12.8%), 9% above the lowest observed value of 0.3% on 6/25/2021 and 99% below the highest observed value of 27.7% on 4/15/2020. Statewide, hospitals reported 9,023 non-ICU beds, of which 7,450 (82.6%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 73 (0.8%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,500 (16.6%) remained available. Hospitals also reported 1,347 ICU beds, of which 885 (65.7%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 31 (2.3%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 431 (32.0%) remained available. By comparison, hospitals reported yesterday a total of 8,968 non-ICU beds, of which 7,276 (81.1%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 64 (1%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 1,628 (18.2%) remained available. Hospitals also reported yesterday a total of 1,349 ICU beds, of which 898 (66.6%) were occupied by non-COVID patients, 31 (2.3%) were occupied by COVID patients, and 420 (31.1%) remained available.
Two weeks ago, the 7 day confirmed case average was 74.0, the 7 day confirmed deaths average was 3.0, the 7 day hospitalization average was 150.0, and the 7 day weighted average positivity rate was 0.42% (or 0.56% excluding higher education).

Day-over-day, newly reported deaths are down, but newly reported cases are up a bunch - possibly due to the infamous weekend reporting wonkiness, as newly reported tests are also up a bunch. The estimated active case count is down again, but the total number of hospitalizations is up. Somewhat more worryingly, the seven-day average for percent-positive actually is up, above the Lowest Observed Value - albeit, at 0.33%, it's still extremely low. The other three seven-day averages held at their LOVs; all four averages are still well below where they were two weeks ago. Overall, the absolute numbers are still very good indeed, but upticks in cases and percent-positive are worth keeping an eye on.
The town of Acton's current Google Data Studio dashboard is showing zero active and 981 cumulative cases as of June 28. There have been no new cases shown on this dashboard since June 2. The most recent "newsflash style update" at 11:45AM on May 28, 2021 reported 978 cumulative cases with 3 individuals in isolation, 943 persons recovered and 32 fatalities.
