The Wall Came Tumbling Down
Twenty years ago today, the Berlin Wall fell.
I still remember watching the live coverage of Berliners partying as they climbed atop the Wall and started hacking away at it with pickaxes. I'd gotten out of the Navy only a few months earlier, and I'm not sure that anyone seriously considered that the Warsaw Pact might fall apart peacefully. Yet there it was unfolding on CNN ...
